Ye, it trades at First North Sweden, so not the biggest market in Sweden as it is pretty small. I know several international investors struggle with buying it. I’ve heard Interactive Brokers might support it
I have questions about the Nordic Portfolio. You also mentioned LVMH, do you hold LMVH also in this portfolio or do you have all stocks listed here?
You are basically going for quality. Why do you take such a risk with EVO? Moreover, you don't care about the ethical aspect? EVO will perform strongly especially in an environment of inflation, because there are enough victims who gamble away their last money and are even willing to put all their belongings at risk... I dont want to support such businesses. But of course it's your decision if you need/want to be invested in it.
I hold LVMH in my International Compounder portfolio.
I believe Evo is a good risk reward play as I outlined in last weeks newsletter. Its a quality company with a good business model and is unique in the industry.
As to the ethical question, I dont disagree that gambling can be a harmful activity for people that lack control of their own emotions/actions. I do however not let this interfer with my investing process.
To me, it is similar to alchohol, which causes a series of bad behaviors and outcomes like violence, car accidents, and murder. Also, tobacco, that causes lung cancer and poor health for all of its users.
Some people would invest in a alchohol company, but not tobacco or gambling. I understand it, but it is not how I think, as I see alchohol as a more harmful substance in general than both tobacco and gambling.
My investing is focused on the quality of the business, and the likelihood of achieving a superior return, and not on the ethical side, as I dont believe the stock market cares much where I put my capital.
If I wanted to see change in one of these areas for example, I would rather do something actively to reduce the gambling issues in my local area or get involved somehow else.
if I have actually triggered thinking here, I must say that I'm glad after all, even if I would like to leave everyone of course his decision. If you look at this data, this is definitely the last thing I want to support: Making young as well as already poor people poorer and poorer, driving them into ruin, destroying families and livelihoods and ultimately provoking suicide. https://quitgamble.com/gambling-addiction-statistics-and-facts/
Of course, no company is flawless, but here the business model is obvious. What added value to society does EVO provide? Fun?? Really? I don't see what value it creates. Of course, if you're only looking at returns, then EVO has great potential as long as no regulatory changes are coming. But there are currently also many other fairly or favorably valued companies. Thinking is certainly not bad, ....
Which broker do you use for buying/selling Teqnion shares?
I use Nordnet. My preferred platform as im Norway based
Thank you - I am asking this because I would like to invest in Teqnion too but it is quite difficult to find a German broker which offers this stock.
Ye, it trades at First North Sweden, so not the biggest market in Sweden as it is pretty small. I know several international investors struggle with buying it. I’ve heard Interactive Brokers might support it
Do you if international investors are allowed to open an account at Nordnet as a foreigner?
I think you need a Scandinavian social security number, but you should try. Just google Nordnet
Thank you for your update!

Thanks for your response! Plenty of good options out there with no connection to addiction and diseases, but it is yours. 👍
That's true, I'm taking your thoughts into account. Will give this question some more thought. Thanks.
